Endorsed: Grassroots Law Project

As New Yorkers we are facing a number of complex challenges. Together, we are fighting for racial and economic justice, to contain the COVID-19 pandemic, to open our schools safely, to save our restaurants and bars, and to keep the cultural institutions we cherish and love alive and vibrant. We are fighting for our home–for the future of New York City.

That is why we are so proud to have received the endorsement of the Grassroots Law Project. Founded by Shaun King and Lee Merritt, Grassroots Law Project bridges the gap between grassroots organizing and legal expertise in criminal justice reform by bringing millions of us together to address the most pressing and egregious failures of the system, hold powerful actors accountable, and advocate for deep structural change.

“We appreciate your commitment to transforming justice and policing in this country.”

“Last year there were protests in every part of New York City demanding a new vision for public safety. The City Council claimed they were listening then failed to meaningfully reallocate money from the NYPD’s bloated annual police budget of almost $11 billion. With so many open City Council seats, 2021 is the year that we elect a City Council who will defund the NYPD and invest in making sure every New Yorker is stable and secure in their communities. We are proud to announce our full slate of NYC endorsements.”

Thank you, Grassroots Law Project. We are incredibly honored to have earned your endorsement.
